Storm Total: 0 inches
Temperature:
Comments: Driving out 999, I saw the white hilltops of York county on the other side of the river. So I drove to Washington Boro to get a picture. Turkey Hill has more of a dusting (1/2 inch?) and coming in Letort Road from the river along the ridge, there was "snow" 1-2 miles in from the river. Then nothing. I saw a small snow pile where someone needed to clear their driveway. About 11:30am, wet snow was blowing from the east. The windmills are facing east. Can it get white now? Snow days without snow are boring.

Comments: Amazing !! I took a ride to Sam Lewis State Park, Eastern York County. Elvation around 900'. Measured around 5 inches on grass, but only slush on asphalt. And, it was snowing moderately. Down in Wrightsvile, about 2 miles down from Sam Lewis, NO snow, ground bare, and raining! So, Lancasterians, if you want to see some good snow, Sam Lewis is a great place to go!!

New Rain/Snow: inches in the last hours
Storm Total: 5.5 inches
Temperature: 35
Comments: Very hard snow to measure. The snow kept melting and compressing as it fell throughout the day. It would snow, then slow down/stop and compress and melt, then snow harder to accumulate, then compress and melt. 5.5" of measureable snowfall was what I was able to discern. Precipitation stayed snow most of the day. Did change over to some light rain in the late afternoon/evening. That helped compress the snow down to about 3", which is currently about what is still on the ground here. Liquid equivalent precip. for the event was 0.80", approx. 90% of which fell as snow, so we conceivably received more than the 5.5" I was able to measure. By the way, elevation here is 768 ft.
