Comments: It started snowing here about 10am. I ventured to Dallastown in York County between 10:30 and 11:30 and saw snow falling but not sticking there. It was rain as I drove over the Susquehanna River. Later, I was just north of the town of Conestoga about 12:45pm, and the snow was sticking to the grass and bushes there. But as I drove back toward Millersville, the temperature must have been just enough higher that rain mixed in. At 2pm in Letort (3 miles west of Millersville), we have nothing sticking to the ground. Bush and tree branches have droplets of water - not ice. It's fine snow with some bigger flakes.

Comments: The snow has tapered off to flurries, and the wind has picked up. I measured again and still had 1.5 inches as an accumulated total on the solid log. The sidewalk is slushy, and my previous footprints didn't fill in. So while we probably had two inches, I can't report that as a measured amount. Nevertheless, we've had snow on many of my recent wedding anniversaries - 2002, 2005, 2007, and now 2009. Pretty good for early December.

We noticed in our travels from Millersville to Highville around 2 p.m. that the Highville area had already started to accumulate snow on the trees, grassy areas and driveway surface while on lower elevations it had not.
